The Future of IFB

Posted on 05 August 2015

Earlier today we published a letter from IFB’s Founder, Jennine Jacob. After nearly eight years she’s decided it’s time to move on and tackle new challenges and a new business. It’s a wonderful letter and we hope you read it.

With her stepping down from the day-to-day operations of IFB, it seems obvious that changes are inevitable; that a new crew will be stepping in to try our best and fill those stylish shoes she wore so well. So, we thought we’d take a quick moment to introduce ourselves and give a small peek at what we have in store for you.

Many of you are already familiar with Kristen Philipkoski. For the past year, she’s been writing for IFB while running her own fashion blog, Stylenik. She’ll continue on as our Editor-in-Chief and help ensure Jennine’s vision remains true. And as a close friend of Jennine’s, she’s absolutely the best person to help carry the torch in IFB’s new era.

IFB-Team2

Also coming on board are Billy Evans, Jason Glaspey, Kim Toomey and Katie Koteen. The four of us have worked together and been friends for several years across multiple projects, and are experienced in growing online communities, educating web citizens, and building engaging online content. We were tapped specifically for our ability to bring these experiences together and to continue to help grow IFB into a thriving and engaged community.

As you can see, we’ve already rolled out a new design for the IFB site. While we like where it’s going, we’re not done yet and hope to continue to smooth out the kinks in the new design over the coming months. We also have several new resources we’re working on that we hope will make the fashion blogger’s job a little easier. Throw in some upcoming partnerships with brands and there’s a lot to be excited about.

What we’re really excited about, however, is that in the coming weeks we’ll start slowly taking the wraps off our new IFB Pro membership. We’re working hard behind the scenes to create a focused and dedicated private community that helps each of you take your blogs to the next level. We’ll be opening up a few spots to our Beta community next week and hopefully will be letting more people in throughout the end of the summer. We’re very excited about this, and think you’ll love it.

Lastly, we understand that there may be a bit of anxiety for some of you. Change is hard. And we know how much you all love Jennine. We’re very excited to be granted the opportunity to run this community, and we take over with a deep sense of responsibility to make our readers our first priority. Helping you grow your online businesses is our greatest aspiration. Please feel free to reach out to us—through comments, Facebook, or email. You can email me, jason@heartifb.com, any time. Please let us know how we’re doing, and how we can serve you better. Without you, there is no IFB, and if we’re not solving your needs, we’re not doing our jobs. So don’t hesitate to let us know the best way to do that.

Thanks for giving us the chance to make IFB an even greater community than it already is. And here’s to another great 8 years!
